Police were quickly on the scene of an armed robbery at a drive through bottle shop in Reservoir yesterday, arresting the alleged offender in a nearby street.
Police attended the Plenty Road hotel at 1.30pm after an armed robber allegedly threatened the attendant in the drive thru with a box cutter and stole an amount of cash.
Responding police conducting a patrol of the area and spotted a youth in Steane Street who fitted the description of the alleged offender.
After a short conversation, police arrested a 15-year-old Reservoir boy and conveyed him to Preston Police Station.
The youth was subsequently charged with three counts of armed robbery and one count of possess a drug of dependence.
He is expected to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
