Police are searching for four men following an armed robbery in Sydney’s west yesterday.

About 6am (Wednesday 1 August 2012), a 70-year-old man and his 29-year-old daughter were opening a newsagency on Boomerang Place, Seven Hills, when they were confronted by four men wearing balaclavas.

The men, one of whom was armed with a small black gun, stole an amount of money from the counter area and cash from the alleged victims’ wallets.

The 70-year-old man and 29-year-old woman were forced into a back area where the men tried to bind their hands before stealing the woman’s car and leaving the scene.

Officers attached to Blacktown Local Area Command attended a short time later and established a crime scene which was examined by specialist forensic officers.

Police would like to speak to four men they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.

They are only described as being of medium build with Australian accents.

Officers are continuing to search for the woman’s black Toyota Yaris.
