Police are appealing for public assistance following an attempted armed robbery in Preston earlier this month.
Investigators have been told a man entered a service station on Bell Street, near the intersection with St Georges Road, just after 9.30pm on Friday, 6 July and made a demand for cash.
The man was armed with what appeared to be a screw driver.
The attendant refused the man’s demands and he left a short time later, heading east along Bell Street.
No one was injured during the incident.
The man is described as short and was wearing a black hooded jumper at the time of the incident.
Detectives from Darebin Crime Investigation Unit are investigating the incident and have released an image on a man they would like to speak with.
