Police are investigating an attempt aggravated robbery and an aggravated robbery at two service stations overnight at Para Hills West and Gilles Plains. Both incidents are believed to be committed by the same offender.
Just after midnight, a man armed with a large knife entered the Liberty Service Station on the corner of Main North Road and Kesters Road at Para Hills West and threatened a staff member demanding cash.
The employee refused to hand over money and the offender fled empty handed.
Just before 1am, a man armed with a large knife, matching the description of the suspect in the previous attempt robbery, entered a Caltex Service Station on Grand Junction Road at Gilles Plains and threatened staff demanding money.
The suspect fled with an amount of cash.
No one was physically injured in either incident.
The suspect in both incidents is described as a man with tanned skin, between 165cm-175cm tall, slim build, wearing a black hooded jumper with a NIKE motif, black track pants and sneakers. A black cloth or bandana covered the majority of his face.
Police patrols with the assistance of Dog Operations attended both scenes but were unable to track the offender.
