Police are investigating an attempted aggravated robbery which occurred at Elizabeth South today.

Just before 2.30pm two men entered the TAB on Philip Highway and demanded cash.

One of the suspects was allegedly armed with what has been described as a double barrel shotgun.

The suspects threatened the cashier but fled empty handed after she activated the alarm.

They were both last seen heading east on foot down Swan Terrace.

The first suspect is described as being of Aboriginal appearance, about 183cm tall, overweight, 30-35 years and wearing a grey long sleeved hooded top with a solid white stripe down the sleeves and “ES75” in white writing on the front, plain khaki cargo pants and black and white sneakers.  This suspect had the firearm in his possession and was carrying a black bag with a white patch on it.

The second suspect is described as being Caucasian, thin build, 170cm, 25-30 years with bleached blonde hair and wearing a blue hooded knee length rain coat and blue jeans.

Witnesses reported seeing the suspects drive off in a red four wheel drive with a cream “nudge-bar”.  It is believed the registration started with SAZ or SAF.

No money was handed over and the firearm was not discharged.
