Police have charged a man in relation to several armed robbery offences on the Gold Coast over the past few weeks.

On August 26 a man threatened staff with a knife at a Scarborough Street Southport convenience store and demanded money.

At around 3.40pm on August 31 a man entered a Marine Parade convenience store and threatened the store attendant with a knife. He fled the scene with a sum of cash.

On September 9 a man threatened a male shop attendant with a knife at a convenience store on Scarborough Street Southport, however he was disturbed by a customer and left the store empty-handed.

On September 11 at around 7.30pm a man held up staff at a Fifth Avenue Burleigh Heads convenience store, and fled with cash.

Police arrested and charged a 49-year-old Coolangatta man with three counts of armed robbery, and one count of attempted armed robbery.

He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow.
