Police are investigating the armed robbery of a supermarket at Carseldine yesterday morning.

Around 11.40am, a man entered the Gympie Road store, selected items and waited at a checkout.

When the attendant was processing his purchase he threatened her with a hammer before demanding she open the till.

The man then stole the cash drawer and fled the scene.

He is described as being Caucasian in appearance, in his early 30s, with a thin build, fair hair and a ginger beard.

No one was injured during the incident.
