Police from North Brisbane and Sunshine Coast districts are investigating a number of armed robberies that have occurred in both districts over the past months.

Operation Kilo Shot was first established to investigate the armed robbery of a hotel in Nudgee and a hotel in Bald Hills in September.

Just after 10pm on September 23, two men entered a hotel on Nudgee Road, Nudgee and threatened staff with a firearm. The pair left soon after with a sum of cash

Around 10.10pm on September 27, three men have entered a hotel on Gympie Road, Bald Hills armed with a firearm and a knife. The men threatened staff before fleeing with a sum of money.

No one was physically injured as a result of either of these robberies.

Detectives from Operation Kilo Shot arrested and charged two men following investigations into three armed robberies that occurred in October at a Kedron hotel (October 5), Buderim golf club (October 7) and a Kawana Waters hotel (October 8).

A 33-year-old man and a 25-year-old Hemmant man both appearing in Maroochydore Magistrates Court yesterday charged with several offences including armed robbery, derivation f liberty and unlawful possession of a weapon.

 

One of the men is described as being Caucasian in appearance, approximately 185cm tall with a slim build and blue eyes.

The other man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, about 180cm tall with a slim build.
