A man and woman have been charged over a robbery at a petrol station at Casula in Sydney’s south-west earlier in the week.
Police will allege about 2am on Thursday 1 November 2012 a man and woman entered a petrol station on Graham Avenue and committed an armed robbery.
During the incident the man allegedly threatened the console operator with a firearm while demanding cash and cigarettes.
The pair left the store with an amount of cash and cigarettes prior to police being called. No one was injured during the robbery.
Officers from Liverpool Local Area Command attended the petrol station and established a crime scene with was examined by specialist forensic officers.
Forensic evidence was allegedly located at the scene which led to police identifying a 29-year-old man as being involved in the armed robbery.
Yesterday (Friday 2 November 2012), detectives from Liverpool Local Area Command and officers attached to the South West Metropolitan Region attended a house in Lurnea where they arrested the 29-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman.
Police also conducted a search warrant at the premises where they seized a firearm and clothing allegedly used in the armed robbery.
The man was charged with robbery whilst armed with a dangerous weapon and an outstanding arrest warrant over an alleged robbery in Fairfield on Sunday 8 April 2012. He was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 3 November 2012).
The woman was charged with robbery in company and granted conditional bail to appear in Campbelltown Local Court on Thursday 29 November 2012.
