ACT Policing is seeking  witnesses to an aggravated robbery at a service station in Kambah where a knife  was produced.

About 10.30pm on Friday, May  25, a man entered the Caltex Service Station on O’Halloran Circuit, carrying a  large cleaver style knife and demanding cash from the console operator.

The operator complied with the  demands and the man was last seen heading across Jenke Circuit towards the ACT  Remote Control Car Club, with a small sum of cash.

The offender is described as aged between 20 and 30 years old, approximately 183cm tall,  large/athletic build, dark tanned complexion, possibly Islander in appearance.  He was wearing a black hooded jumper, black tracksuit pants, a black beanie and  white gloves with a white T-shirt wrapped around his face, and  carrying a black bag.

Police are appealing for the driver of a white or  silver hatchback, possibly a Holden Barina, which left the service station a  couple of minutes before the robbery to contact them as they may be able to  assist with the investigation.

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery that occurred at the IGA supermarket, Holt Place, Holt last night (Saturday, June 2).

About 8pm, a man armed with a knife entered the supermarket and demanded cash and cigarettes.

The cashier complied with the demands and provided the man with cigarettes and a sum of money which were placed into two bags. The man fled the store and was last seen running towards Beaurepaire Crescent, Holt. The Specialist Response and Security Canine Team attended the scene a short time later but were unable to locate the offender.

The man is described as approximately 6 foot (182cm) in height, with a slim build.  He was wearing a dark coloured hooded jumper and dark coloured pants, white gloves and shoes. He had his hood pulled up with a white face covering underneath.

22-year-old Braddon man has been arrested following an attempted aggravated robbery in Holt yesterday morning (Saturday, May 27).

About 9.40am the man entered a store at the Kippax Shopping Centre in Holt where he produced a knife and demanded the female shop assistant hand over the contents of the till. The shop assistant told the offender that the cash register was broken before running to the back of the store and locking herself in a room. After trying to open the cash register, the offender left the store empty handed.

Police attended the Kippax shops and spoke to a number of shop owners who had seen a man acting suspiciously around the shopping centre that morning.

Around 12.25pm the alleged offender was located by police at an address in Florey. He was subsequently arrested and taken to the ACT Watch House. Acting Superintendent Donna Hofmeier said that information from the   public helped police make a prompt arrest. “The information provided on this occasion by the shop assistant and other staff from within the shopping centre, assisted police in identifying the alleged offender quickly,” Acting Superintendent Hofmeier said. The man will face the ACT Magistrates Court tomorrow morning (Monday, May 28) where he will be charged with attempted aggravated robbery.

ACT Policing is seeking the assistance of the public to help identify the two people in the images as they may be able to assist with the investigation into a robbery and assault in Dickson earlier this year (Sunday, January 1).

The images of the man and woman were taken from CCTV cameras at the Coles Express in Dickson around the time of the robbery.

About 6.40pm the offender entered the Top Goods Asian Groceries store in Woolley Street Dickson and asked the staff member for some assistance. A short time later the offender struck the staff member on the back of the head before stealing a sum of cash and fleeing the store.

ACT Policing has released CCTV images of the two offenders responsible for the burglary and theft which occurred at McDonald’s Westfield Woden on Sunday 6 May, in the hope someone can identify them.

Between 1.00am and 2.00am, two men entered the premises through the rear door and stole approximately 200 hamburger buns and 20 drinks.

The first male is described as being Caucasian in appearance, aged in his early 20’s, approximately 175cms (5’ 9”) tall, with a medium build, shoulder length straight dark coloured hair and a fair to olive complexion. He was wearing a white business shirt, a black thin tie and dark coloured dress trousers.

The second male is described as being in his early 20’s, of Caucasian appearance, approximately 170cms (5’ 7”) tall, with a medium build, fair complexion and short dark wavy hair. He was wearing a white business shirt with a black bow tie and dark coloured dress trousers.

A 31-year-old Campbell man has been arrested after an aggravated robbery took place at a shopping complex in Palmerston yesterday (May 1) afternoon.

Police will allege that around 4.20pm, the man entered the store armed with a knife and threatened staff. The man fled the store with a sum of cash and was seen by a witness entering a vehicle and driving away.  The witness quickly provided the details of the vehicle to police.

Around 10.30pm, police located the vehicle in Campbell and took the man into custody.

Superintendent Brett McCann from Criminal Investigations said that the apprehension of the man can be put down to the timeliness and accuracy of information provided to police shortly after the offence was committed.

“With the information provided by the witnesses, we were able to direct resources to appropriate areas within Canberra which allowed us to take the offender into custody in a timely manner.

“If you’re a victim or witness during a robbery, comply with the offenders directions and try to remember as many details as you can. There is no point in getting hurt or putting yourself in danger. Property can be replaced, your life can’t,” Superintendent McCann said.

The man has been charged with aggravated robbery and will face the ACT Magistrates Court today.

ACT Policing has received information the man responsible for the aggravated robbery at the Southern Cross Club in Macquarie (Thursday, March 29) was also involved in thefts at three Canberra clubs.

The thefts occurred at the Canberra Southern Cross Club in Phillip, the Mawson Club and the Ainslie Football Club at different times over the last month.

Around 3am Monday, March 5 a man entered the Canberra Southern Cross Club in Phillip. He climbed over the glass barrier and removed a large sum of money from the till.

On Friday, March 30 police were called to the report of a theft at the Mawson Club where the offender stole a small amount of cash from the till.

Around 2.10am on Wednesday, April 4 police attended the Ainslie Football Club in response to a robbery where a man entered the cash box and took a large sum of cash.

The man is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, 5’9 (175cm) tall, slim build.

ACT Policing has released CCTV images of one of the offenders responsible for an aggravated robbery in Macquarie on Thursday, March 29 in the hope someone can identify him.

Around 12.05am, two men entered the Southern Cross Club armed with knives, and demanded money from a staff member.

The staff member handed the men a sum of cash and they fled the club through a side door which exits to the car park behind the club.

The first man is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern in appearance, 5’9 (180cm) tall, slim build, and was wearing a black “hoodie” jumper, grey pants, white gloves and sneakers.

The second man is described as being of Middle Eastern appearance, approximately 6’2 (180cm) tall with a solid build. He was wearing a black “hoodie” jumper, grey pants and white sneakers with black stripes.

ACT Policing has arrested two 17-year-old male teenagers after an aggravated robbery took place at the Holt Caltex Service Station last night (Sunday, April 15). About 10pm, the two teenagers, armed with knives entered the service station and approached the cashier.  The teenagers made a number of threats and demands before the cashier opened the cash register and fled the store.

A short time later, the cashier saw the two teenagers run from the service station, carrying the cash tray from the register.  The cashier returned to the service station and contacted police.

Around 10.10pm, members of Belconnen General Duties located the two teenagers on Beaurepaire Crescent, Holt.  A foot pursuit commenced and the two teenagers were quickly apprehended.  Police found property from the service station on one of the teenagers.

Detective Sergeant Richard Gough from ACT Policing Criminal Investigations said that the information provided to police was critical in apprehending the two teenagers so quickly.

“The information provided to police in a timely manner ensured that attending officers had the best possible chance to apprehend the offenders.

“The cashier did the right thing by looking after his personal safety and removing himself from danger. There is no point in putting your life in danger over cash or a few packets of cigarettes,” Detective Sergeant Gough said.

The two teenagers were taken to the ACT Watch House and charged with two counts of aggravated robbery.  They will face the ACT Childrens Court today.

ACT Policing is appealing for witnesses to an aggravated robbery at the 5-Star Supermarket in Theodore last night (Wednesday, April 11).

About 6.45 pm a man entered the 5-Star Supermarket located on Lawrence Wackett Crescent where he threatened the store attendant with a weapon before decamping with a sum of cash.

The man ran out on to Lawrence Wackett Crescent where he got into a waiting vehicle described as being a dark coloured, possibly blue or black, new model car similar to a Honda Accord. The car drove off along Lawrence Wackett Crescent towards Tharwa Drive.

The offender is described as having tanned skin, with a medium build and approximately 165cm to 170cm (5’5” to 5’ 7”) tall. He was wearing a black ‘hoodie’, with the hood pulled over his head and white gloves.
