Police investigating after a Booval convenience store was robbed last night have released images of a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

Around 6.40pm a man entered the Brisbane Road business and took a drink from a fridge before approaching the male attendant at the counter and demanded money. When the attendant did not immediately comply the man produced a knife.

After obtaining cash the man has fled the store and was last seen heading down an alleyway towards a carpark.

The male attendant was not physically harmed.

The man is described as Caucasian, 173cm tall and of thin build. He was wearing a black hooded top, black shorts and was carrying a backpack.

Police have charged a man and woman following their investigations into two armed robberies at Cranbrook and Currajong overnight.

Police will allege around 7:45pm the man and woman entered a service station on Ross River Road and threatened an employee with a tomahawk before demanding money and cigarettes.

The male shop assistant complied and the pair fled the scene on foot.

It will be further alleged around 1.15am the woman entered a convenience store on Hugh Street before threatening the attendant with a bar and making demands for money.

The female shop assistant refused and the woman fled the scene on foot.

No one was physically injured during either incident.

A 35-year-old man and 32-year-old woman, both from Innisfail, have been charged with two counts each of armed robbery in company.

The pair are scheduled to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court this mornin

Police have arrested a teenager following an attempted robbery and assault overnight in the CBD.

Police will allege just before 2am on Tuesday 19 April, the accused entered a convenience store on the corner of Hindley Street and Morphett Street and threatened staff with a machete.

He demanded cash but left empty handed.

He then approached a man on Hindley Street and struck him with the machete.

Patrols were quickly on scene and police arrested the accused after a short foot chase.

A 17-year-old from Welland has been charged with attempted aggravated robbery and aggravated assault cause harm. He has been refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Youth Court later today.

The victim was treated at hospital for cuts to his ear and forearm.

Police investigating an armed robbery at Rhodes have footage of the incident as inquiries continue.

About 1.50am on 29 February 2016 an armed robbery occurred at The Ezymart Convenience Store, Gauthorpe Street Rhodes. The offender entered the store armed with a large knife and demanded money of the attendant.

The offender, who was dressed all in black, had a balaclava covering his face and one eye. The offender is described as medium build, approximately 165cm tall and having a tanned complexion. The offender fled the scene with a quantity of cash and cigarettes.

Strike Force Jacuzzi was established by Burwood Detectives who have identified some strong lines of inquiry and investigations are ongoing.
Investigators have now released CCTV of the incident in the hope somebody may come forward.

Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery in Leichhardt this morning.

Just before 8am (Saturday 9 August 2016), two males, one armed with a knife, entered a convenience store on Darling Street, Rozelle, and threatened a 28-year-old man working in the store.

The armed pair fled the scene a short time later, taking tobacco and cash.

Officers attached to Leichhardt Local Area Command were notified and established a crime scene.

The employee was uninjured during the incident.

As inquiries continue, police would like to speak to two males who may be able to assist them.

One is described as possibly being of Caucasian appearance, about 170cm tall, of medium build, and was seen wearing a high-visibility jumper with fluoro-orange on the top and dark-blue on the bottom.

The second male is described as being about 180cm tall, of medium build, and was seen wearing a navy-blue hooded jumper.

Police are appealing for information after two armed robberies occurred at Newcastle today.

About 11.30am (Sunday 3 April 2016), a man walked into a business on Belford Street, Broadmeadow, and allegedly threatened a 41-year-old male employee with a knife, demanding money.

The employee complied and ran away. The man left the store shortly afterwards with a sum of cash.

About 12.30pm (Sunday 3 April 2016), a man entered a convenience store on Wharf Road, Newcastle. The man allegedly threatened a 23-year-old male worker and demanded money.

A sum of cash was handed to the man and he left the store, running north towards Hunter Street.

Police from Newcastle City Local Area Command were called to both incidents and commenced investigations.

No one was injured in either of the robberies.

Detectives suspect both incidents are linked and would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, in his early to mid 50s, about 175-180cm tall with a solid build.

In the first incident, the man was seen wearing a white t-shirt and black glasses.

In the second incident, the man was seen wearing sunglasses, a black t-shirt and cream shorts.

Detectives have charged a man following an armed robbery that occurred earlier this morning at Varsity Lakes.

Around 3.10am, it is alleged a man entered a convenience store on Christine Avenue, produced a knife and made demands for money.

He allegedly obtained cash from the male store attendant before fleeing the premises.

There were no customers in the store at the time of the incident.

No one was physically injured as a result of the robbery.

A man was located nearby and taken into custody by police.

A 45-year-old Burleigh Heads man has been charged with armed robbery and is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court today.

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a convenience store at Ultimo yesterday.

Just before 11.30am (Sunday 27 March 2016), a man with his face covered by a medical mask entered the store on Bulwara Road and confronted the attendant, a 29-year-old woman.

The man produced a knife and a hammer and demanded money from the attendant who locked the cash register.

The man then stole a number of cigarettes from behind the counter and again demanded the attendant open the til.

The woman complied with the demand and the man ran off. He was last seen running west along Bulwara Road.

Police were alerted and officers from Sydney City Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

An investigation is underway and officers would like to speak with a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.

He is described as being approximately 165 to 170cm tall with a medium build and had his face covered by a white medical mask.

He was last seen wearing a grey-coloured hooded jumper with a navy blue front, dark-coloured tracksuit pants and black shoes.

Police are investigating following the armed robbery of a convenience store in Southport this morning.

Initial information suggest at around 7:15am a man entered the business on Myall Road, armed with a knife.

The man demanded money from a male staff member, who complied with the man’s demands.

The man then fled the scene with a sum of cash and was last seen on Sussex Street.

The 49-year-old staff member was not physically injured during the incident.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, tall and of a slim build.

He was last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants with a black baseball cap and a backpack.

Investigations are continuing.

Townsville police are investigating after a man armed with a meat cleaver robbed an Oonoonba convenience store this morning.

Around 8.55am the man entered the Abbott Street business, threatening two employees- a 22-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl- before stealing cash from the tills and running from the store.

He was last seen fleeing down O’Donnell Street.

No one was physically injured and police investigations are continuing.
