Crimes Related to Financial Institutions

Investigators from Operation Counteract arrested a 31-year-old man from Port Augusta in Strathalbyn earlier this afternoon.

He has been charged with the attempted aggravated robbery at a Seacombe Gardens Bank which happened on September 28.  He appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.

Police are investigating an armed robbery on the state’s Mid North Coast.

About 10.10am today (Wednesday 17 October 2012), three men entered a financial institution on Hastings Street, Wauchope, with their faces concealed and armed with screwdrivers.

The trio threatened staff, demanding money, before fleeing with an amount of cash.

They left the area in a silver Holden Commodore which was being driven by a fourth man.

Police have been told the vehicle narrowly missed hitting a pedestrian as it left the scene.

Police were alerted and officers from Mid North Coast Local Area Command attended and commenced inquiries into the incident.

Local police are being assisted by officers from the State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad.

The Commodore was located on fire on Horatio Braham Drive, South Kempsey, about 11am.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the robbery, or who has any information, to come forward.

The men are described as being of Aboriginal / Torres Strait Islander appearance and were all wearing dark clothing.

Police are appealing for information from the public following an armed robbery in the state’s north.
About 9.50am today (Tuesday 25 September 2012), two men entered a financial institution on Toormina Road, Toormina.
Both men, allegedly armed with knives, threatened staff members before stealing an amount of cash.
They then fled the premises on foot.
Coffs Harbour Police attended and established a crime scene which was examined by forensic officers.
They are appealing for anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the men to come forward
