Detectives have renewed their appeal for public help as they continue their inquiries into the serious assault of a man in Sydney’s east two weeks ago.

About 11pm on Thursday 9 June, a 36-year-old man became involved in an altercation with another patron inside the licensed premises on Maroubra Road at Maroubra Junction.

The man was asked to leave the pub by staff.

About 12.45am today, the same two men again got into a fight outside the hotel.

The 36-year-old man sustained severe head injuries in the incident and was found unconscious a short time later.
nPolice from Eastern Beaches Local Area Command and NSW Ambulance Paramedics responded to the incident.

The victim was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for treatment.

Local detectives commenced inquiries to identify and locate the offender.

They’ve now released a description of a man they believe might be able to assist with their inquiries.

He’s been described as being of Caucasian appearance, 178cm tall with a solid build and well-groomed ginger beard, and was wearing a fake black leather jacket, black cap and jeans at the time of the incident.
