Police are investigating the armed robbery of a hotel in Sydney’s east this evening.

Shortly after 9pm, two men entered the hotel on Frenchman’s Road, Randwick, and threatened the manager with a firearm and machete.

The men ordered the manager into a back office before leaving with a sum of cash.

Both men, who had their faces concealed, were last seen running into nearby St Marks Road.

Police were notified and officers from Eastern Beaches Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene which was examined by specialist forensic officers.

Several patrons who were in the hotel at the time were not approached or injured during the incident.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident and who hasn’t already spoken to police, to come forward.
