Members of Broadmeadows Embona are asking for public assistance in relation to the bashing and robbery of a man in Craigieburn last month.
Police were told a 60-year-old man was attacked after he arrived at work at his wholesale butchers business in Yellowbox Drive about 5.40am on May 11.
The man was sitting at a desk in an office with his back to the door when two men broke into the premises.
It’s alleged the two men, armed with planks of wood, assaulted the man before stealing an amount of cash.
The man was knocked to the floor and struck across the head and body being left with a laceration to his face.
His attackers are described as Caucasian with thin builds and both were wearing beanies.
One man was wearing a distinctive red, flannelette jacket.
A witness observed a male in the area around the time of the offence and has produced an image of a person investigators wish to speak to.
