A third man has been charged over the alleged attempted armed robbery of a butcher’s shop at Moorebank earlier in the month.

About 1:30pm, Saturday 15 November 2014, three people were working in the butcher’s shop on Stockton Avenue when two men entered the store.

Police will allege one of the men threatened the staff with a large carving knife.

During the incident one of the employees jumped onto the counter while armed with a butcher’s knife and ordered the men out of the store.

The pair left the premises empty-handed where they were allegedly seen to leave in a silver Nissan Maxima.

A short time later police were patrolling the Claymore area when they sighted the Nissan. The vehicle was stopped by police and two men, aged 32 and 45, were arrested.

The men were taken to Macquarie Fields Police Station where the 45-year-old man was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon while the younger man was charged with robbery in company.

They were refused bail and appeared in Parramatta Local Court the next day where they were remanded in custody to appear in Campbelltown Local Court on Monday 24 November 2014..

Following investigations by detectives, about 11:15pm last night (Saturday 22 November 2014), police attended Olympic Park, Homebush where they arrested a 30-year-old man.

He was taken to Auburn Police Station where he was charged with robbery in company and refused bail.

The man appeared in Parramatta Bail Court today (Sunday 23 November 2014) where he was remanded in custody to appear in Campbelltown Local Court on Wednesday 26 November 2014.
