Police investigating the robbery of a pizza delivery driver who was threatened with a sword and a knife last night (Sunday 3 July) are appealing for public assistance.

The 20-year-old male driver went to Henry Street, Ryde, just before 11pm and began to hand the pizza and drinks to two women who were standing on the footpath.

Two men suddenly appeared from nearby Parry Park and threatened the driver with a sword and hunting knife. Another two men stood nearby.

The driver told police the men demanded the pizzas and cash, which he handed over, before all the offenders ran into the park.

The delivery driver, who suffered minor cuts to his finger and thumb, contacted police.

Officers immediately established a crime scene and patrolled the area for the offenders without success.
