Five men have been charged by State Crime Command Gangs Squad detectives following an alleged attempted extortion at Burwood.
About 3.30pm today (Monday 11 July 2011), five men approached a car yard on Parramatta Road and allegedly demanded money from the owner.
Police attended the scene about 3.40pm. Burwood Local Area Police and State Crime Command Gangs Squad officers, attached to Strike Force Embark, arrested five men at the car yard and took them to Campsie Police Station for questioning.

Strike Force Embark was established to investigate the circumstances surrounding an alleged incident at a car yard on Parramatta Road at Burwood, just before 3pm last Thursday (7 July 2011), in which a number of luxury cars were driven from the premises.
