Police are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a service station at Norman Gardens this morning.
Initial investigations indicate around 2 a person armed with a knife entered the Yaamba Road store and demanded money from the console operator.
The console operator refused to hand over money and the offender fled on foot.
Police, including the dog squad, searched the surrounding areas but were unsuccessful in locating the offender.
The offender, believed to be a man, had their face covered by a hooded jumper and other clothing.
Police investigations are continuing.
