Police have arrested and charged a man over an alleged glassing last night.
About 9.20pm (Saturday 6 August 2011), police and NSW Ambulance Paramedics attended a licensed premises on Oxford Street, Surry Hills, following reports of a glassing.
Police will allege a 38-year-old man hit a 28-year-old man on the left side of his head with a schooner glass.
The glass broke on impact, and left a cut in his head. A shard of glass also came in contact with a 31-year-old man, who received a cut on his hand.
Witnesses and staff intervened and held the man until police arrived.
The 31-year-old injured man was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for treatment. His injuries are not life-threatening.
The 28-year-old man was treated at the scene by ambulance officers.
The 38-year-old man was taken to Surry Hills Police Station where he was charged with two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He was refused bail and is due to appear at Central Local Court today (Sunday 7 August 2011).
