Police appealing for information on the robbery of a woman in inner Sydney in January have released images of two people they believe can assist with their inquiries.
About 10pm on Tuesday 11 January, a 24-year-old woman was walking along Albion Street, Surry Hills, when she was approached by a male and female.
The woman told police she was grabbed around the throat by the male and held in a headlock while the female removed her handbag. A mobile phone was also taken from the woman before the pair ran west on Albion Street.
The woman gave chase, grabbing the female by the hair and taking back her handbag. She continued to chase them as they ran towards Central Railway Station in an attempt to recover her phone.
Another woman also began chasing the pair as they entered the railway station but they were able to evade capture on Platform 16.
Police were contacted and have been continuing to investigate the incident.
Officers have now released images of two people they believe might be able to assist them with their inquiries. Police hope the public can help identify them.
Anyone who can assist investigators should contact Surry Hills Police Station via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
