Police are investigating following an armed robbery in the state’s west overnight.
About 11.50pm (Tuesday 13 September 2011), a man walked into a service station on Bathurst Road, Orange, and threatened two employees with a firearm.
The man demanded cash from the register. He took a sum of cash before he from the store and drove off in a stolen black BMW.
The black BMW left the road and crashed into a garden bed at the intersection of Bathurst Road and Elizabeth Street, a short distance down the road.
Witnesses reported seeing three people running from the scene of the crash.
Police from Canobolas Local Area Command and specialist forensics officers attended the scene and conducted inquiries.
