Detectives have released images of two men they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries into the alleged robbery and assault of a taxi driver in Brisbane on September 11.

Around 1.45am, three men have entered a cab at the corner of George Street and Ann Street, the City, and asked to be taken to Junction Terrace in Annerley.

Upon arrival, they have paid the fare before allegedly assaulting the 28-year-old male driver and fleeing on foot with his wallet, phone and coin tray containing a sum of cash.

Detectives from Dutton Park CIB have already charged a 25-year-old Ellen Grove man with robbery following this incident. He will appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court on October 19.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing and police are appealing for anyone with information on the identity of these men or who may have witnessed the incident to contact police immediately.
