Police are appealing for information following the armed robbery of a fast food restaurant at Merrylands last night.
About 11:25pm, Sunday 18 September 2011, a 21-year-old man was working at the drive-through window of the restaurant on Woodville Road when he was robbed.
Police have been told a masked man, who was armed with a shortened double barrel shotgun, ran down the hill to the drive-through window and threatened the man with the firearm.
The man allegedly pointed the gun through the window and demanded cash before helping himself to money from the till and fleeing the scene on foot.
He was last seen running north on Merrylands Road towards a nearby petrol station.
A motorist who was stopped in the drive-through at the time contacted Triple Zero (000) and police attended the scene minutes later.
A crime scene was established and examined by officers from the Forensic Armed Robbery Unit. No one was injured during the robbery.
Detectives from Rosehill Local Area Command are conducting investigations into the robbery and are looking for a man who has been described as being 170cm tall, thin build, wearing a black hooded jumper, black pants and a black face mask.
