Police from Task Force Resolve have released images of man they are interested in speaking with in relation to the armed robbery of a shop in Mudgeeraba yesterday.

Preliminary investigations reveal a man entered the business on Bell Place at around 11.30am yesterday and was browsing in the store for around 10 minutes before approaching a female staff member at the front counter.

He produced a syringe and demanded cash.

He fled the store with a sum of money, and was last seen running east along Bell Place.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

The man is described as being Caucasian, around 50 years of age, 165cm tall with a slight build and a gaunt, clean shaven face.

He was wearing a green and white baseball cap, dark sunglasses, a green jacket and dark coloured trousers.  

Police investigations are continuing.
