Police are searching for a man who used a syringe to rob a 50-year-old woman using an Automatic Teller Machine in Ashmore this morning.

Around 7.30am, the woman was withdrawing money from a standalone ATM at a Cotlew Street shopping centre when a man threatened her with an uncapped syringe and demanded money.

The woman handed over a sum of cash before the man fled on foot towards Wardoo Street via Cotlew Street.

The man is described as being aged in his late 30’s but looking older, 160cm tall, with pasty skin and bad teeth.

He was wearing large black sunglasses, a black long sleeve jumper with a front zipper going half way down the chest, a black cap, black long cotton drill pants and brown thongs.
