A man has been charged after another man was struck in the face with a glass in Sydney’s inner-west.
About 2pm yesterday (Tuesday 13 December 2011), a 47-year-old man was inside a cafe on Norton Street, Leichhardt.
Police will allege the 47-year-old bumped into a second man and apologised. The second man allegedly threw a glass of water over the man and then struck him to the face with the glass before running out of the premises.
As a result of allegedly being hit with the glass the man suffered a cut to his face. He did not receive medical treatment.
Police were called and located the second man, who is also 47 years of age, nearby where he was arrested.
He was taken to Newtown Police Station where he was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He was bail refused and is due to appear at Newtown Local Court today.
