Police will address the media regarding two armed robberies that occurred in Glebe and Newtown yesterday.
The first robbery occurred about 1.45pm (Monday 19 December 2011) when two men armed with pistols entered a hotel on Wigram Road, Glebe, and threatened staff and patrons.
The two men stole cash before fleeing the scene.
The second robbery occurred about 8.10pm in a hotel on King Street, Newtown, where two men entered the hotel armed with pistols and threatened staff and patrons.
The two men demanded a staff member to open a safe where they removed a sum of cash. The men where seen to leave the hotel and get into a stolen white Subaru that was later found abandoned in Cooper Street, Waterloo.
Police are investigating both robberies and whether there is a link between the two.
