Police are appealing for information following the armed robbery of a café at Pottsville yesterday.

About 4pm, Thursday 23 February 2012, two women were working in the café on Coronation Avenue when a man entered the store via the rear door.

The man, armed with a hammer, confronted one of the women and demanded cash from the register.

He was given an amount of cash and fled the store on foot and was last seen walking around a nearby football oval towards the Community Centre.

The two women were not injured during the robber

Detectives from Tweed Heads are conducting investigations into the robbery and are looking for a man who they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his mid 20s, 175 – 180cm tall with short brown hair and wearing a blue long-sleeve collared shirt and light-coloured three-quarter length pants.
