Police are currently investigating an armed robbery that occurred overnight in Cornubia.

Information suggests that at around 8.30pm, a woman has entered the Beenleigh-Redland Bay Road service station and produced a knife.

The woman has made demands for cash and cigarettes, and has left the business with a sum of cash and a quantity of cigarettes.

No one was physically injured as a result.

She was last seen on foot heading towards a vehicle that was on Beenleigh-Redland Bay Road, and the vehicle was last seen heading east on Bryants Road.

The woman is being described as having a solid build, wearing a red jacket with black stripes on the sleeves, tight black pants, sandals and was carrying a blue shopping bag.

Her face was also obscured by black fabric, possibly a pair of stockings.

Police investigations into the incident are continuing.
