Police have shut down a licensed restaurant in the heart of Kings Cross this evening following alleged licensing breaches in relation to food and hygiene.
About 2am today (Saturday 28 May 2011), officers attached to Kings Cross Local Area Command and the Alcohol Licensing Enforcement Command attended the restaurant in Darlinghurst Road as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged licensing breaches and threats to public health and safety.
It will be alleged the restaurant breached its license conditions and put the public at risk through unsafe and non-hygienic practices.
As a result, all patrons were asked to leave the restaurant and the premises was closed by police.
The owner of the premises was breached for allegedly supplying liquor to five minors, aged 16 and 17 years, and for breaching conditions of his liquor license.
It will remain closed for 72 hours and is expected to re-open on Tuesday 31 May.
