Police are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a take away food store in Alexandra Hills this evening.

Initial information suggests that a man entered the Bluebell Street store at around 6.25pm, and confronted the shop owner and another employee with a knife.

He demanded cash, however the owner told the man he didn’t have any.

The man left the shop empty handed.

He is described as Caucasian, around 180cm tall and of a skinny build, wearing a balaclava, a black shirt and black long pants.

Investigations are continuing.
