Detectives investigating the large-scale theft of items from a hardware retailer have today charged a woman after allegedly discovering stolen items at a locksmith in Cabramatta.
Police from Cabramatta Local Area Command launched an investigation after large quantities of locks were allegedly stolen from hardware retailers between October 2010 and April 2011.
About 9.15am today (Thursday 2 June), officers executed a search warrant on a locksmith on Cabramatta Road East and allegedly located and seized a large quantity of locks.
A 37-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Cabramatta Police Station where she was subsequently charged with deal with the proceeds of crime.
She was issued a court attendance notice to appear at Liverpool Local Court on 14 July 2011.
Investigations are continuing and police expect to lay more charges.
