Police investigating a theft at a hotel in Morningside on Saturday May 21 have released images of a man they believe may to be able to assist their investigations.

Around 7.30am, a man riding an orange mountain bike arrived at the hotel located near the intersection of Wynnum and Junction Roads.

The man broke into the hotel through a rear door and forced open two security doors before proceeding to steal a sum of cash and fleeing on the bicycle.

The man (pictured) is described as Caucasian in appearance, aged in his mid thirties, approximately 178cm tall with a proportionate build and dark brown hair.  He appears to have a balding spot on the crown of his head.

Police are appealing for anyone who might have information about this incident to contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
