Police have charged a 13-year-old boy over a number of alleged assaults and attempted robberies in Sydney’s south-west earlier this month.

On Tuesday 10 May, police were notified of five separate alleged robberies at a shopping centre in Canley Vale.

It’s alleged during one of the attempted robberies a tree branch was used to threaten and assault the victim.

Detectives attached to Cabramatta Local Area Command have been investigating the alleged robberies and arrested a 13-year-old Cabramatta boy yesterday (Wednesday 1 June).

He was subsequently charged with five counts of assault with intent to rob and granted conditional bail to appear in Parramatta Children’s Court on Wednesday 22 June 2011.
