Police yesterday arrested a man and a woman after they allegedly stole items from a store and tried to get away in a stolen car at Kurralta Park.
An alert member of the public rang police just after 4pm to report a man and woman acting suspiciously outside Kmart at Centro Kurralta Park.
The couple allegedly stole items from Kmart, got into a green Nissan Pulsar, which wouldn’t start, and then walked away.
Police arrived and searched the area, locating the woman in Waymouth Avenue at Glandore.
A police patrol pursued the man on foot into yards on Waymouth Avenue.
Cordons were set up and two dog patrols searched the area, finding the man in a rear yard.
The 29-year-old man and 20-year-old woman, both of no fixed address, were arrested and charged with illegal use of the Pulsar.
The woman was further charged with the theft of the vehicle, which was reported stolen the previous night from Grange.
The man was further charged with unlawful possession of property and had a parole board warrant.
Both were refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
