Police are appealing for information after a man was injured in a glassing incident in Sydney’s inner-west.

About 1.40am yesterday (Saturday 4 August 2012), a 42-year-old man was drinking in the beer garden of a hotel on Parramatta Road, Concord,

Whilst the man was speaking to a group of young men he was struck to the left eye with a glass bottle.

Hotel staff took the man to Concord Hospital where he had bone fragments removed from behind his eye and a metal plate inserted. He remains in hospital.

Police were not contacted until 7.30pm last night (Saturday 4 August 2012) and investigators from Burwood Local Area Command have now commenced an investigation.

Investigators are still trying to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
