A 22-year-old man is assisting with police enquiries into the armed robbery of a video store at Annerley this evening.
Around 9.50pm, a man entered the Ipswich Road store claiming to be armed and threatened the attendant before fleeing with a sum of cash on foot.
Local police driving in the area at the time sighted a man running suspiciously from the area and gave chase on foot before detaining him.
Two knives were located allegedly in the man’s possession and a sum of cash was recovered.
The store attendant was not physically injured during the incident.
