10 September 2012 – Armed Robbery – Taxi Driver – Southport

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a taxi driver at Southport last night.
About 10.20pm a taxi driver stopped outside a residence in Rose Street to collect a fare. A male youth entered the taxi and threatened the driver with a knife.
The youth fled on foot along Railway Street after stealing cash and a mobile phone.
The taxi driver was not hurt.
The youth is described as about 15-years-of-age, Caucasian in appearance, 155cms tall with fair hair.
He was wearing a dark hooded jumper and light blue shorts.
