Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery at a golf club in Northcote this morning.
Investigators have been told that a staff member was approached from behind by two unknown men as he entered a building at the Normanby Avenue course just before 7am.
The men threatened the staff member with a bar and made demands for money.
After receiving a quantity of cash they left through a rear door and made their way on to the grounds of the golf course.
The staff member was not injured during the incident.
Both men were wearing balaclavas at the time of the armed robbery and dark clothing.
Detectives from Darebin Crime Investigation Unit would like to hear from anyone who may have seen something suspicious in the area around this time.
Investigators also believe the armed robbery may be linked to a similar incident at the same location on Wednesday, 4 July.
Two men believed to be armed with a firearm and a crow bar entered the grounds on Normanby Avenue around 7am that morning.
They confronted an employee at a rear shed of the club house and threatened the man, demanding he open the shop.
The victim did not have access to the shop and the offenders stole a small quantity of cash from the man’s wallet.
The man was not injured during the incident.
The pair believed to be aged in their 20s, were last seen walking east on Normanby Avenue, and were described as Caucasian in appearance with medium builds.
They were both last seen wearing dark coloured clothing and beanies.
