Armed Crime Taskforce detectives are appealing for public assistance following armed robberies at two convenience stores in Edithvale and Chelsea Heights on 11 September.

Investigators have been told that a man armed with a firearm entered the Edithvale Road premises shortly before 9pm.

The man jumped onto the shelving of the front counter and threatened the male staff member making demands for money.

The man fled with a quantity of cash.

The staff member was not physically injured during the incident.

Investigators believe that approximately 10 minutes later the same man, still armed with the firearm, entered another convenience store located on Wells Road, Chelsea Heights.

The man walked behind the unattended front counter and began to take money from the register.

A female staff member confronted the man who attempted to flee the premises.

While doing so, the man was approached by a dog that he shot and killed instantly.

The staff member also received minor injuries after she was assaulted by the man.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 30-years-old, 170cms tall, with a thin build.

He was wearing a black tracksuit jacket and pants with two white stripes along the sleeves and legs, a black beanie with white stripes, white running shoes and a dark bandana over his face. He was carrying a blue re-useable shopping bag.

Investigators have released images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

A white sedan was also seen in the vicinity of both premises at the time of the offences.
