Police are investigating a hotel robbery that occurred in Jesmond overnight.
About 12.15am (Wednesday 14 November), a man entered a pub on Newcastle Road. The man was armed with a crowbar and screwdriver.
He threatened staff who were counting the day’s takings and was given a sum of money before fleeing the scene.
No-one was injured during the robbery.
Police from Newcastle City Local Area Command attended the scene and are conducting an investigation into the incident.
The man has been described to police as being of Aboriginal appearance, about 170cm tall, of a slim build, wearing a black hooded jumper, baseball cap and green coloured double-striped tracksuit pants. He also appeared to be wearing a dark face covering.
