Police are appealing to the public for information following an armed robbery in Sydney’s south-west.
About 11pm yesterday (Friday 17 June 2011), two men entered a take-away store on Hill Road, Lurnea. A man aged in his 40s was allegedly assaulted by the men, who then threatened him with a firearm and demanded cash.
The men fled the location after obtaining an amount of money and were last seen running west on Reilly Street, Lurnea. They were seen to meet with two other men and all four then ran from the location.
No shots were fired. The man suffered minor injuries to his head during the assault and was treated by Ambulance Paramedics at the scene.
Police were contacted and attended the location shortly after. A canvass of the area was conducted with the assistance of the Dog Unit; however the men could not be located.
Detectives from Liverpool Local Area Command continue with their inquiries into the incident and now wish to speak to two men they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.
The first man is described as being Middle Eastern/Mediterranean in appearance, about 170-180cm tall and of medium build. He is described as wearing a white hooded jumper, grey pants, white joggers and a black balaclava.
The second man also described as being Middle Eastern/Mediterranean in appearance, 170-180cm tall and of medium build. At the time he was wearing a grey hooded jumper, white joggers and black pants. At the time he was wearing a black balaclava and carrying a firearm.
