A man will face court in August charged over an incident at a Cronulla nightspot last week.

About 11.15pm on Friday (24 June), the 20-year-old Sutherland man was asked to leave the hotel on the corner of The Kingsway and Elouera Road because he was intoxicated.

It’s alleged the man argued with staff and, as he was being escorted from the premises, pushed over several chairs.

Once outside, he allegedly pushed a security guard in the chest.

Police from Miranda Local Area Command witnessed the incident and were forced to handcuff the man, who allegedly continued to act aggressively towards them.

He was taken to Miranda Police Station; however, officers could not interview him due to his level of intoxication and released him.

Late last night (Saturday 25 June), the man was issued a notice to attend Sutherland Local Court on Thursday 11 August 2011, to answer the following charges:

§ Excluded person fail to leave premises when required;
§ Common Assault (security officer);
§ Resist Arrest; and
§ Offensive Language

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
