Two men have been charged after allegedly trying to steal an ATM this morning.
Police from Burwood Local Area Command went to George Street in Burwood about 4am, responding to reports two men had broken into a business.
When they arrived, police will allege they saw the men trying to lift an ATM onto the back seat of a car.
Police will further allege they saw the continuing to push the ATM into the car, oblivious to the presence of the officers.
The men were arrested were taken to Campsie Police Station.
A 29-year-old man from Strathfield and a 32-year-old man from Brookvale have each been charged with one count of aggravated break, enter and steal in company.
They’ve been refused bail to appear in Burwood Local Court later today.
The business was closed at the time of the alleged offence.
