Five youths have been charged with robbery and stealing offences after multiple robberies in the inner city.

About 11pm Wednesday 27 July 2011, three youths approached a woman on George Street, Sydney and allegedly stole her wallet, mobile phone and iPod, before running away.

About 3.30am Thursday 28 July 2011, five youths approached a man and a woman near Harbour Street, Darling Harbour and allegedly attempted to steal a bag.

The 22-year-old man and 28-year-old woman struggled with the youths, resulting in the woman suffering a broken nose and abrasions.

The youths allegedly removed a tablet computer from the bag and ran from the scene.

About 3.40am Thursday 28 July 2011, the youths approached a woman who was walking near Harbour Street, Darling Harbour and allegedly attempted to remove her backpack.

Passers-by came to the assistance of the woman and the youths ran from the location.

Police from City Central Local Area Command attended the scene and arrested the youths nearby.

A 17-year-old girl was taken to City Central Police Station and charged with aggravated robbery (in company) and assault with intent to rob. She was refused bail and is due to appear Bidura Children’s Court today (Friday 29 July 2011).

A 12-year-old girl was taken to City Central Police Station and charged with aggravated robbery (in company) and assault with intent to rob. She was refused bail and is due to appear Bidura Children’s Court today (Friday 29 July 2011).

A 12-year-old girl was taken to City Central Police Station and charged with receiving, aggravated robbery (in company) and assault with intent to rob. She was granted conditional bail and is due to appear in Bidura Children’s Court on Tuesday 23 August 2011.
