Police at Port Macquarie have arrested and charged a man over an alleged glassing last night.
Witnesses told police two men were in a licensed club in Owen Street, Port Macquarie, about 11pm when an argument developed.
Police will allege an 18-year-old man hit a 25-year-old man on the left side of his head with a schooner glass.
The glass broke on impact, allegedly cutting the man around his left eye. He was also allegedly punched several times.
Security intervened and held the teenager until police arrived.
The youth was taken to Port Macquarie Police Station where he was charged with reckless wounding. He was granted conditional bail to appear in Port Macquarie Local Court on 5 September.
The injured man – who was on holiday from Sydney – was treated at Port Macquarie Base Hospital and was allowed to leave after receiving stitches to several facial cuts.
