August 9, 2011 – Update – Charges Laid – Armed Robberies – Ashmore

 Detectives from Task Force Resolve working in partnership with South Eastern Region have further charged a man in custody with armed robbery offences.

Police charged a 40-year-old man from Ashmore last week with the armed robbery of a service station at Ashmore on April 23, 2011 and a fast food restaurant at Ashmore on April 30, 2011.

He was further charged in relation to two armed robberies at video stores at Ashmore on April 15 and 16.

Both robberies involved a replica handgun being used to threaten staff, although no one was injured.

Police seized a replica firearm (pictured) from the property where the man resided.

He is scheduled to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court today.
