Police would like to thank the member of the public who has assisted with their investigations following an armed robbery in Churchill this morning.
It is alleged that around 7.10am, a masked man armed with a knife entered a service centre on Warwick Road and demanded money.
The attendant complied with the man, who then fled the scene with a sum of cash.
A member of the public contacted police with information which led police to locate a man at an address in One Mile a short time later.
A 30-year-old One Mile man has been charged with one count of armed robbery and will appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court this afternoon.
Community assistance is essential to policing, and the Queensland Police Service rely on information from the public to assist with investigations.
District Duty Officer Senior Sergeant Robbie Goodger said it’s always appreciated when police receive information and assistance from members of the community.
“We are there to serve the community, and it is great that they are proactively helping us to do that by providing us with information that enables us to keep them safe,” Senior Sergeant Goodger said.
