Police are appealing for public assistance following an alleged armed robbery in the state’s west.

 Shortly before 8.40pm yesterday (Saturday 27 August 2011), an unknown man entered a business on Hardinge Street in Deniliquin.

 He allegedly threatened a 57-year-old female employee with a knife, before going behind the front counter area.

 He then fled the store with an amount of cash and was seen riding a push bike from the area.

 No one was injured during the incident.

 Deniliquin Police attended the business and established a crime scene.

 Detectives are investigating the incident and want to speak to a man they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.

 He has been described as of Caucasian appearance, 182cm tall, of medium build and aged from 20 to 40 years old.

 Police are now appealing for anyone with information about the incident to contact them at Deniliquin Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
